How to use CareDent PerioTape 4m

1. Wind — Break off about 45cm of tape and wind the ends around the middle finger of each hand. Pinch the tape between your thumbs and index fingers, leaving 2.5–5cm taut between them.
2. Glide — Guide the tape between two teeth with a gentle side-to-side motion. Don’t snap it down onto the gum. Once through the contact, curve the tape into a C-shape against the side of one tooth.
3. Slide — Move the tape up and down against the tooth surface and just under the gum line. Curve it against the neighbouring tooth and repeat, using a clean section of tape for each gap.
4. Repeat — Work through the lower teeth the same way, using your index fingers to guide the tape into the contacts.

For best results

• Floss at least once a day, ideally before brushing
• Pair with a dentist-recommended toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthrinse
• Add a tongue cleaner to your routine for fresher breath

Is CareDent PerioTape PFAS free? Yes. The 2nd generation PerioTape is manufactured without PTFE or PFAS materials, using a UHMPE fibre instead.

Why did CareDent change the material? CareDent transitioned from PTFE to UHMPE in response to evolving Australian regulatory requirements and growing demand for PFAS-free alternatives. The Gen 2 tape is stronger and smoother than the original.

Is this tape waxed? Yes. Gen 2 PerioTape has an impregnated microcrystalline wax coating, which is what gives it its glide and comfort through tight contacts.

Who should use CareDent PerioTape? Suitable for all ages and for everyday flossing, and particularly useful where contacts are tight and standard floss shreds. It can also be used with floss threaders around bridges, implants and braces.

How often should I use it? At least once daily, or as directed by your dental professional.

How long does 4m last? Roughly one to two weeks of once-daily flossing. It’s designed as a trial or travel size — for daily use at home, the 50m or 100m packs are far better value.

What’s the difference between dental tape and dental floss? Tape is flatter and wider than round floss, so it covers more of the tooth surface with each pass — useful for lifting plaque rather than just dislodging food.
