This carbamide peroxide whitening gel is designed for use with Custom Fit Whitening Trays provided by your dentist or The House of Mouth™. Each 1.2 ml applicator contains enough gel for approximately 3 full upper and lower whitening applications, making it well-suited for patients seeking a 2-4hr wear time.
The formulation contains potassium nitrate and fluoride (PF), ingredients commonly used in whitening gels to help support enamel health and manage temporary sensitivity. This combination makes Opalescence 20% an established choice within take-home whitening systems, providing flexibility and convenience for home use while under professional guidance.
Typical application involves wearing the trays for around 2-4hrs once per day, or as otherwise directed by your dental professional. The duration of use and overall results can vary depending on factors such as diet, lifestyle, and individual dental history.

Opalescence 20% PF Teeth Whitening Gel Instructions
Follow the guidance provided in your Opalescence Whitening Instruction Guide. For first-time users, discussing your individual circumstances with your dental professional before starting any form of whitening.
- Place a small drop of Opalescence 20% gel into every compartment of the tray for the teeth undergoing treatment.
- Insert the tray in your mouth and lightly tap it to adapt the sides to your teeth. Leave the tray in your mouth for the recommended time.
- Remove tray and use a finger or soft toothbrush to clean any excess gel off your teeth. Rinse your mouth twice being sure not to swallow rinsed gel.
- Clean tray with soft brush and cool tap water. Dry and store your trays in a cool place.
Tip: Rather than a continuous bead, use no more than 1–2 small drops (match-head size) per tooth; this helps preserve gel and can minimise sensitivity and gum irritation.

Teeth Whitening Maintenance
To help maintain the appearance of whitening, occasional touch-ups may be recommended by your dental professional. Results vary between individuals. An everyday whitening toothpaste such as Opalescence Teeth Whitening Toothpaste can help maintain colour between uses. This can be combined with occasional, targeted touch ups using a Teeth Whitening Pen.
Teeth Whitening Trays
This product can only be used with Custom Fit Whitening Trays. Custom Fit Trays are recommended for use with all Teeth Whitening Gels as they provide the best fit and most effective results. Ingredients
Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Urea (Carbamide) Peroxide, Carbomer, PEG6, Xylitol, Sodium Hydroxide, EDTA, Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Fluoride.
Storage
Store bleach out of the sun and heat. Refrigeration (2°-8°C) is recommended. Do not freeze. Do not use after expiration date.

What’s the difference between Opalescence 10%, 15%, 16%, 20% and 35%?
The main difference is wear time. Lower concentrations (10%, 15%, 16%, 20%) are worn for longer periods, sometimes overnight, while higher concentrations (such as 35%) are worn for shorter daily sessions. Your dental professional will advise the most suitable concentration and wear time for you.
How many applications does this last for?
Each 1.2 ml applicator provides enough gel for approximately 3 full upper and lower whitening applications. Use no more than 1–2 small drops (about a match-head size) for each tooth you wish to whiten.
Is Opalescence Whitening Safe?
