What is an impression?
A dental impression is used to provide an exact replica or imprint of the teeth and gums of both your upper and lower jaws. Two “horseshoe” shaped trays are used to load a specialised impression material that is a soft “play dough” like consistency. One at a time, these trays are placed into your mouth, allowed to set and removed from your mouth. These impressions are used with specialist dental equipment to fabricate your Custom Fit Teeth Whitening Trays.
Can anyone utilise your Custom Fit Teeth Whitening Tray Services?
Those who have a strong gag reflex we suggest taking advantage of our Complete Home Teeth Whitening Kit. For all clients who are considering this service we always suggest that you have had a recent and/or are up to date with your regular dental examination and clean appointments. Remember to read the list of people for which whitening is not recommended by clicking here.
How long will it take to get my Custom Fit Teeth Whitening Trays?
It takes approximately 7-10 business days to fabricate your Custom Fit Dental Trays utilizing specialized dental equipment. Your Custom Fit Trays will be dispatched to our desired courier or delivery carrier and posted to you shortly thereafter. You will receive an additional email confirmation with tracking upon dispatch.
What bleaching gel is included in my kit?
It’s your choice! We allow clients to choose between all of our professional dental grade whitening brands - Bleached!, Pola, Opalescence, Philips Zoom, Colgate Optic White and Designer White. There is no need for LED Lights or cheap gimmicks as we only offer whitening gel used and recommended by dentists.
Which Whitening Gel should I choose?
We offer the choice between two formulations and a variety of concentrations to suit everybody’s needs. See our ‘Which Product Should I Choose?’ page to assist in determining which product is best for you. Should you require any additional advice please contact us.
I have a bad Gag Reflex, is this best option for me?
We understand that people who gag may not feel comfortable having dental impressions taken. For this reason, we recommend purchasing one of our Complete Home Teeth Whitening Kits. These kits include 3x Thermoforming Whitening Trays and avoids impression taking.
How is a 'Custom Fit Tray' different from other Trays?
A Custom Fit Tray is an individualised and customised imprint of your teeth. The end result is two seamlessly fitting whitening trays (upper and lower) that exactly replicate your individual mouth. A Thermoforming Bleach Tray requires a plastic tray to be heated in boiling water than adapted, using your fingers, to your teeth. Although Thermoforming Trays are a great alternative to visiting the dentist they simply do not fit and adapt to your teeth as well as Custom Fit Tray. Clients often find that bleach may leak out of their Thermoforming Bleach Trays if they are not adequately adapted to their teeth therefore, causing irritation and sensitivity.

There are a lot of businesses offering teeth whitening treatment how is 'The House of Mouth' different?

Do you offer Health Fund Rebates?
As our services and pricing are so competitive we do not currently offer HICAPS services – it’s important to know that many health funds do not (or very minimally) cover cosmetic services such as Teeth Whitening anyway.

How do I make an appointment?
Simple! Visit our ‘Book Online’ page and follow the simple instructions to make an appointment.
How do I make an appointment for more than one person?
In our Online Booking System Simply choose the appropriate appointment type which corresponds to the number of people you wish to book for. View our ‘Book Online’ page for more detailed information. You will need the Full Names and Email Addresses of all group members when booking an appointment for more than one person.
How do I know my appointment is confirmed?
You will receive an email and/or SMS confirmation usually within 24hrs indicating your appointment has been approved. An additional email/SMS will be sent to you approx. 1-2 days prior to the scheduled appointment.
How long will my appointment take?
Each appointment scheduled takes approximately 30minutes. The impression procedure itself is very simple and takes only about 15 minutes for both impressions (upper and lower). The time allocated for your appointment is slightly longer so we can discuss and run through procedural instructions, show you how to use your whitening kits and trays and answer any questions you may have.
Is your service the same as what my local dentist offers?
Yes. We use the exact same professional products and processes utilised within private dental practices. We source all of our high quality dental products directly from the same professional Dental Suppliers. The only difference is we conveniently come to you and you pay a fraction of the price offered at many dental practices.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
When do I have to make payment?
Due to the unique nature of our service we require a $50 deposit (per person) paid at time of booking for all appointments. The remainder is paid on the day of your appointment via Credit or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard or AMEX).
What suburbs do you service?
At present we conveniently service Gold and Tweed Coasts. We are currently working on and designing to expand our services. See our ‘Service Areas’ page for more info.
What happens if I need to reschedule an appointment?
Simply follow the instructions included in your confirmation email. You will be prompted through the process to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Please note in direct accordance to our ‘Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy’ – we require a minimum 24hrs notice for any appointment rescheduling. We cannot guarantee your alternate appointment time will be available. Rescheduled appointments made within the 24hr window will forfeiture the appointment deposit. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further information.
What happens if some of the people in my scheduled group appointment time can no longer make it?
Due to the unique nature and out of respect for other clients, if one or more group memebrs cannot attend the scheduled appointment we cannot simply offer a complimentary reschedule for those who cannot attend. Please note that our ‘Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy’ within our 'Terms and Conditions' bind each individual client scheduled within a group appointment.
What happens after I've made an appointment online?
After scheduling your appointment, you will receive an additional email/SMS verifying your appointment. You will also receive an email containing an ‘Information Pack’. Please complete and return this to us at least two days prior to your appointment. All group members must complete this form.
What happens after you have taken my impressions?
Your impressions will be utilized to fabricate your Custom Fit Dental Trays. This process usually takes up to about 7-10 business days. Once your Custom Fit Trays have been fabricated they will be immediately dispatched and sent to you via Priority Post.
Do you accommodate for large groups?
Yes. This service is perfect for weddings, school formals or other events. We are more than happy to accommodate for larger group bookings. Simply contact us with your requirements for more information.
Are your staff appropriately trained?
Yes. Unlike many of our competitors our staff have vast experience or training in the dental industry. All of our staff are currently employed as or have worked as dental nurses, registered dental practitioners or directly within the dental industry.
~ DIY Service FAQ's ~
What happens if I don’t take a good impression?
In your DIY Impression Kit, you are supplied with enough impression material for three individual attempts i.e. one for both your upper and lower teeth and one spare. Before use always carefully read the instructions provided with your kit to ensure you take the best imprint of your teeth. Contact us should you be concerned.
What happens after I take my Impressions?
Simply post your impressions in the reply satchel provided in your kit – once your impressions are received we will get to work and fabricate your Custom Fit Trays – upon dispatch you will receive an additional email confirmation with tracking from our courier or delivery carrier.
I only need new Custom Fit Trays can I just order an impression kit without purchasing whitening gel?
No worries. Simply choose the “DIY Custom Fit - Trays Only Package” under the Buy Now option on the “DIY Custom Fit Tray” page. You will receive everything needed to take your own impressions without paying extra for a ‘Home Teeth Whitening Kit’.
